Hampton County BrunsonBrunson is located in Hampton County off US 278 near the Allendale County line. It grew as a depot town for the Port Royal and Augusta Railroad, which later changed hands and became the Charleston and Western Carolina Railroad.
Brunson's school system began in the 1800s when Pineville Academy and Brunson Graded & Military School served students from as far away as St. Stephen and Seabrook Island. Some students boarded in private homes and some came each day on the C&WC train.
Hampton is the largest city in Hampton County, but the City of Allendale is closer to Brunson. It is located in Allendale County. Here are maps of the Hampton area and Allendale area .
