SCIWAY's guide to Charleston music and musicians is divided into four sections. The first is devoted to Charleston's professional and recreational orchestras, symphonies, choirs, and quartets. In short, it covers classical music in Charleston. The second includes non-profits and other organizations that seek to encourage musical education and enjoyment. Charleston SC Symphonies, Choirs, and Classical Music


  • Chamber Music Charleston
    This Charleston non-profit is composed of musicians dedicated to giving chamber music concerts and educational performances in hopes of stimulating the audience, with a special focus upon children.

  • Charleston Barbershop Chorus
    The 40-odd members of this choir sing together as one chorus, preserving and encouraging four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop tradition, playing "sing outs" for just about any occasion.

  • Charleston Community Band
