About North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach is a lovely little town tucked between Myrtle Beach and the North Carolina state line. It was formed in 1968 from the smaller beach communities of Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach, and Windy Hill Beach.

Quieter and more relaxed than its neighbor to the south, North Myrtle Beach offers a resort-like atmosphere while still offering access to all the entertainment and amenities of the Grand Strand. In North Myrtle Beach proper, you can enjoy a day by the sea, play a round or two of golf, and do some high-end outlet or boutique shopping.

North Myrtle Beach nightlife leans toward an older, perhaps more dignified crowd. You can find fine restaurants, cigar bars, dinner theaters, and shows together in a dense, often walkable, area. In addition to this wide mix of evening performing arts, North Myrtle Beach also hosts the House of Blues, which brings national acts to the stage all year round.
