Parris Island, South CarolinaSouth Carolina Parris Island is a Marine Corps Recruit Depot located in Beaufort County. The first Marines were stationed here in 1891. The base expanded significantly in 1929 when a causeway and bridge granted access to the island by car and again during WWII.
