Furman, South Carolina
South Carolina Hampton County Furman
The Town of Furman, located on US 601 in Hampton County, should not to be confused with Furman University, which is quite far away in Greenville.
From 1899 until the 1960s, Southern Railway passed through Furman on its Columbia to Savannah route. Passagers and freight used this line to reach Hardeeville where the Atlantic Coast Line ran south to Florida or north to Charleston.
Hampton is the largest city near Furman. Here is a map of the Hampton area.
