Troy, South Carolina

South Carolina Greenwood County Troy Troy is located in southwestern corner of Greenwood County, nearly at the McCormick County line.

Caught up in the path of the French and Indian War, Twenty-three settlers, including the grandmother of John C. Calhoun, died here in an Indian massacre in 1760. Two large rough stones marking their common grave remain to memorialize their lives.
