South Carolina Saluda County Ridge Spring The Ridge area of Saluda County has been settled since the 1700s. In 1869, a railroad was built here, accompanied by a water tower. Many settlers moved to be near the train stop – as well as the good water supply – thus forming Ridge Spring.
