Lake Wylie, South Carolina

South Carolina York County Lake Wylie Lake Wylie is the oldest lake along the Catawba River. It was created in 1904 when a dam was built near Fort Mill. The dam was reconstructed in 1924 and the lake was expanded.

Today the lake is managed by the Duke Power Company. It provides recreation and power to the residents of both Carolinas. Lake Wylie is located in York County.
