Union County Buffalo
Buffalo is located in the central part of
Union County. The town took its name from nearby Buffalo Lick Springs. The area features an expanse of large, flat rocks. According to tradition dating back to the
Colonial era, herds of buffalo frequented the area and were often seen licking the rocks, attracted by their saline properties.
