This two-story former brick school in the rural Williamsburg County community of Salters was built in 1924. The building housed three classrooms on the ground floor and one classroom and an auditorium, which included a stage, upstairs. The school, which educated 100 students from grades 1 through 11 in 1925, owned its own bus.
From the 1970s through the 1990s the building housed Black River Glads, a gladiola cultivation business.
Many thanks to contributor Linda Brown for sharing her photo and the above information.
