South Carolina  |  SC Picture Project  |  McCormick County Photos  |  Little River Truss Bridge

This steel truss bridge crosses the Little River in Mount Carmel near the site of the historic Calhoun Mill. The bridge was built in 1928 and refurbished in 1958. Its length comprises 319.9 feet of South Carolina Highway 823, and around 350 vehicles cross it each day. The Little River in McCormick County is one of four rivers in South Carolina of the same name. It is a tributary of the Savannah River and converges with Strom Thurmond Lake.
