When it comes to tennis, South Carolina is a major player. Each spring, the state hosts the Volvo Cars Open (Family Circle) on Daniel Island. Additionally, in the 1950s, Sumter-native Althea Gibson became the first African American to win world-championship tennis tournaments such as Wimbledon, the French Open, the Australian Championship, and the US National Championship (known today as the US Open).

Carolina One Volleyball
This locally-owned, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicates itself to promoting volleyball in the Upstate of South Carolina. It is the oldest volleyball club in the Greenville and Pickens areas.
Palmetto Volleyball Association
Headquartered in Ninety Six, the South Carolina chapter of USA Volleyball is a non-profit organization which acts as the governing body of volleyball in our state.
