SC Picture of the Month
Last month we looked at South Carolina "from the mountains to the sea," and this month we are celebrating the Midlands. This vibrant fountain is in Finlay Park, which is located in downtown Columbia. The park is an oasis of fun during the dog days of summer.
Located in the historic Vista, the park is a popular place for summer concerts and family fun. It also has playgrounds, waterfalls, playing fields, and a scenic view of the Columbia skyline.
Wilson Jumper of West Columbia took this lovely picture in July 2008.
If you would like your picture to be featured in our newsletter, please send it to SCIway. We select photos for the newsletter from the ones we receive, and it's a great way to bring publicity to you or your town.

From the classic beauty of tall ships to pirates giving their best "Argh," Charleston Harbor Fest is a true celebration of the sea. It offers an array of activities for boatloads of family fun. You can tour the ships, enjoy the scenic waterfront, and relax with a beverage and fine Lowcountry fare. You can take a free sailing lesson or build your own boat over the weekend. There are also aerobatic flight demonstrations, a parachute team, NASA exploration experiences, a kids' zone, and a "Parade of Sail."
