{ SC Photo of the Month — Grace Episcopal in Charleston }

This month, in honor of the season, we celebrate Grace Episcopal Church, which suffered extensive damage from the Virginia Earthquake on August 23, 2011. The sanctuary was closed for over a year, but Grace is now open to commemorate Christmas once again. The church has survived numerous hardships during its 165 years, including the Civil War, the Earthquake of 1886, the Hurricane of 1911, and Hurricane Hugo in 1989.

Many thanks to photographer Benton Henry for his help in documenting our state's beloved landmarks. If you have a photo you would like to contribute, please add it here. The SC Picture Project is viewed by 3,000 people each day – or over 1,000,000 a year!
