House of Firewood – Rock Hill, South Carolina

South Carolina  |  SC Picture Project  |  York County Photos  |  House of Firewood

This one-of-a-kind house of firewood can be found in Rock Hill, located in York County. The sign above the door gives a phone number and says “The Wood Pecker.” SCIWAY thanks Jerry Bridgers for submitting these pictures he took in 2008.

Jerry writes: “The building is entirely stacked firewood and the interior is actually a room. Admittance to the room was not allowed. Probably in fear of careless smokers!”

House of Firewood – Add Info and More Photos

The purpose of the South Carolina Picture Project is to celebrate the beauty of the Palmetto State and create a permanent digital repository for our cultural landmarks and natural landscapes. We invite you to add additional pictures (paintings, photos, etc) of House of Firewood, and we also invite you to add info, history, stories, and travel tips. Together, we hope to build one of the best and most loved SC resources in the world!

This is a terrific photo. I am from Rock Hill, but it has been a long time in returning there. Would love to see this in real life.
