Lake Oolenoy – Pickens County, South Carolina
South Carolina | SC Picture Project | Pickens County Photos | Lake Oolenoy
Lake Oolenoy is one of two lakes located within Table Rock State Park in Pickens County. This beautiful lake spans 67 acres and delights visitors with mountains views, hiking trails, and great fishing.
The cabin seen in the photo below serves as the Visitors Center for Table Rock State Park as well as a gift shop. Visitors can access the lake via a boat ramp. Only private boats with electric trolling motors are allowed on Lake Oolenoy.
The exposed rock that you see in the background of the above photo is Table Rock. The Cherokee Indians believe their god used this rock as his table for great feasts. Pinnacle Lake is the other lake at the state park.
It is smaller than Lake Oolenoy, but still has fantastic views and is a popular place for those wishing to tour the lake in a rented canoe, kayak, or pedal boat.
Lake Oolenoy Add Info and More Photos
The purpose of the South Carolina Picture Project is to celebrate the beauty of the Palmetto State and create a permanent digital repository for our cultural landmarks and natural landscapes. We invite you to add additional pictures (paintings, photos, etc) of Lake Oolenoy, and we also invite you to add info, history, stories, and travel tips.
