Tanglewood Plantation in Lynchburg is currently a private residence, and has a long and interesting history.
According to the National Historic Register Tanglewood was home to many renowned South Carolinians including United States Senator Ellison Durant “Cotton Ed” Smith, and Alexander Coke Smith who was the Bishop of the Methodist Conference in the early 1900s.
