Surfside Pier – Horry County, South Carolina
South Carolina | SC Picture Project | Horry County Photos | Surfside Pier
The Surfside Pier in Horry County provides fun in the sun for many a fisherman and beach-goer. It is a meeting place for locals and vacationers alike. The pier was originally built in 1953 and has been rebuilt at least three times — the last time being March of 1993.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the Holliday Family owned and operated the pier. A storm knocked it down for the third time, and it rebuilt and sold to the Scalise Family. The city eventually bought the pier and now leases it to the Kremer Family. Visit the Surfside Pier website for information about fishing from the pier.

I used to live across from this pier and fish from it. Amazing what pictures will do for you!
