Old Homestead – Horry County, South Carolina
South Carolina | SC Picture Project | Horry County Photos | Old Homestead
Traveling through rural South Carolina may be the best way to experience our state’s beauty. Winding two lane highways can take you from coastal beaches and marshlands, past farms and homesteads, to mountains and cascading upstate falls.
BJ Thurman took this picture as she drove along the Pee Dee Highway in Horry County. She writes, “What attracted me to the scene was the variety of interesting trees – palmetto, magnolia, and cedar to name three – and the illumination of the barn by the setting sun.”
Old Homestead Add Info and More Photos
The purpose of the South Carolina Picture Project is to celebrate the beauty of the Palmetto State and create a permanent digital repository for our cultural landmarks and natural landscapes. We invite you to add additional pictures (paintings, photos, etc) of Old Homestead, and we also invite you to add info, history, stories, and travel tips. Together, we hope to build one of the best and most loved SC resources in the world!
