The sun puts on a spectacular show over Myrtle Beach, located at the northern coast of South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is the heart of the Grand Strand region, which stretches from the North Carolina border down to Georgetown. In addition to 60 miles of beautiful beaches, this bustling city has many attractions, golf courses, and restaurants.

Brilliant, fiery colors dominate the landscape when the sun retires at the end of the day, part of what makes this beachside city such a popular destination.

Reflections on the Myrtle Beach Sunset

Myrtle Beach photographer Gregg Turbeville tells us about the top photo: “I went to capture the moonrise in mid-January. It was cloudy in the northeast, so I missed the moonrise. But looking south, I was able to get a nice pink/orange skyline as the sun set in the west.”

Contributor Cheryl Farley shares her experience of capturing her stunning photo while delivering a boat to North Carolina: “There was a storm coming the next morning, and we were scrambling to get the yacht that we were delivering to New Bern, tied up securely in anticipation of the high winds and seas. My husband actually missed the entire sunset, because he was working in the engine room of the boat. I took five minutes from my duties of storm tying the boat, to snap about 20 shots of this sunset. It was the most spectacular sunset I had ever seen.”
