South Carolina  |  SC Picture Project  |  Greenville County Photos  |  Monarch Butterfly

Steven writes: “This Monarch butterfly was photographed at Roper Mountain Science Center, part of the Greenville County School System. I enjoy capturing the minute details of butterflies such as this one. Butterflies have a complete molecular change during their metamorphosis. This is symbolic of a Christian dying to the world and living a new life in Christ. He is completely changed. I’ve photographed other butterflies but the Monarch is my favorite. I really like the way the camera captures the texture of the wings and body.”
