The Middle Saluda River flows through the pristine Jones Gap State Park. It was the first river protected under the SC Scenic Rivers Program, and is surrounded by a wide natural corridor. Dropping almost 1000 feet in four miles, the river has many lovely, cascading waterfalls.
Eve Brewer of Easley took this shot while hiking through Jones Gap in the fall of 2006.
She says that “In the fall, the colors along the trail are beautiful. The combination of the trees with the river provides a great afternoon of hiking.”
