Village Blacksmith – Edgefield, South Carolina
South Carolina | SC Picture Project | Edgefield County Photos | Village Blacksmith
This simple brick building in Edgefield is part of the Edgefield County Historical Society’s living museum of artisans, which also includes a nearby master carpenter and potter. The living museum is also supported by the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor.
Every Tuesday through Saturday visitors can watch a blacksmith forge iron into practical accessories such as hardware as well as decorative artwork. The blacksmith even accepts requests for special, one-of-a-kind pieces of folk art shaped in the way of the masters centuries before.

Village Blacksmith Add Info and More Photos
The purpose of the South Carolina Picture Project is to celebrate the beauty of the Palmetto State and create a permanent digital repository for our cultural landmarks and natural landscapes. We invite you to add additional pictures (paintings, photos, etc) of Village Blacksmith, and we also invite you to add info, history, stories, and travel tips. Together, we hope to build one of the best and most loved SC resources in the world!
