This church in the Darlington County community of Lamar was organized and built in 1872 on land donated by Captain Joseph Commander. The building was moved to its present location in 1909 and remodeled in 1911.
Fair Hope Presbyterian was a founding member of the Pee Dee Presbytery in 1889. However, it seceded from the presbytery in 1969 to become an independent church.
