Chester – Chester, South Carolina
South Carolina | SC Picture Project | Chester County Photos | Chester
The historic farming community of Chester is still going strong. Scots-Irish settlers harvested cotton here in the early nineteenth century, and the Upstate has been a major textile producer ever since. Though the silo below may no longer be in use, the farmland surrounding it is alive and well.
Reflections on Chester
Contributor Peter Krenn says this about his motorcycle ride through Chester County: “Riding the backroads of Chester county I saw this old silo. The farms around it are still active, but it has been a long time since the silo was used.”
