This statue – titled Lone Sailor – stands at the Riverfront Park in North Charleston. It is part of the Greater Charleston Naval Base Memorial.

Designed to remind us of the many lives impacted by the former Navy Yard, the memorial follows the history of the base, from its inception in 1901 to its closing in 1996.
