This photo was taken by Samantha Keisler of Lexington in July 2007. She says that she and her husband were on their way to visit the Angel Oak when it started raining: “We decided to keep going anyways, and thankfully, right when we got there, it stopped raining and I was able to get some amazing shots!”

I used to live on Johns Island when I was little. My sister and I used to play on this tree all the time before it became a huge attraction. It was one of our favorite places our mom would take us. We would spend all day climbing and playing in the branches.I now live in Michigan, but, I still brag about this tree to all my friends.
