Steven Faucette of Williamston took this shot in October 2008 while visiting the Lake Conestee Nature Park in Greenville.
Recently rehabilitated, the Lake Conestee Nature Park has been at the center of industrialization in Greenville. Originally created by the construction of a dam for hydroelectric power in 1892, the lake slowly filled with sediments from the upstream development of Greenville to become the shallow wetlands it is today. The 300-acres park now welcomes the public with a 2.1-mile nature trail.
