Referred to as Courthouse Square, this small park highlights both a Confederate monument and a life-sized bronze statue of native-son Strom Thurmond. Built in 1839, the Edgefield County Courthouse is a focal point of the square. Although the county courthouse dates as far back as 1785, the building itself has been rebuilt and expanded numerous times.
