Located on Broad Street in Camden, the Robert Mills Courthouse was completed in 1827 and remained in use a courthouse until 1906. Today, it is home to the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center. While there, be sure to check out the murals depicting the Battle of Camden.
Born in Charleston, Robert Mills (1781-1855) was the architect of the Washington Monument and designed courthouses for 18 counties in South Carolina , along with many other buildings, including the Fireproof Building in Charleston.
