Camden's town clock sits atop the former opera house at the corner of Broad and Rutledge streets. The weather vane is a sculpture of King Haiglar, the Catawba chief who befriended many of Camden's early settlers in the 18th century. The bell that rings on the hour is the original one that dates back to 1824, when Camden's town clock was located at the old market across the street from the Robert Mills Courthouse.
