Park Circle is located in the historic center of North Charleston. As one of America's first planned communities, Park Circle was laid out in 1912 with a focus on green spaces as well as commercial, residential, and industrial areas. When the Charleston Navy Yard took off during Word War II, the area saw a development boom. Today, Park Circle is enjoying a renaissance based on sustainable businesses, helping it move past its industrial legacy.
