The girls living at the Jenkins Institute for Children engage in a variety of organized activities during the evening and weekends, and one of them is nurturing their garden located behind the Jenkins dormitory.
Clemson Extension runs a mentoring program to teach the kids how to manage the garden, compost waste, and cook meals from the food they grow.
Our visit to their garden confirmed that their efforts were not in vain. The vegetables all looked delicious!
