The Cathedral of St John the Baptist is one of the many downtown churches that give Charleston its nickname of "The Holy City." This photo was taken by 16-year-old Chelsea Pfaehler of Lexington in 2007.
Chelsea writes: "This building, for me, showed a lot of the history and diversity of Charleston! It was just a beautiful building and for some reason, it brought forth a lot of unexplainable emotion. I guess to see how old it was and that a lot of people don't appreciate the beauty of history. I was so happy to capture that beauty! I also noticed this building while I was with my aunt in a garden that was open to the public and the greenery that was included in the foreground showed the natural side of Charleston as well!"
