An azure sky and palmetto fronds frame this historic Charleston home at 30 South Battery Street. This photo was taken by Frank Fillmann of Raleigh, North Carolina in November 2004.
Frank writes: "These are two of the beautiful historic houses located at South Battery Street in Charleston, SC. The shot was taken in the late November afternoon of Thanksgiving 2004. From this area in historic Charleston one can watch sailboats on the waters of Charleston Harbor with legendary Fort Sumter in the distance. Close by are the Civil War-era cannons of White Point Gardens – 'The Battery' – and its beautiful, peaceful massive oak trees that have witnessed the history of Charleston throughout the ages."
