David describes taking the picture: "My wife and I had taken a motorcycle ride and decided to stop at the Caw Caw Interpretive Center to walk around and shoot some photos. We had walked around the center for about an hour when we came upon this scene. I was intrigued by the light and how the trees provided a colorful backdrop to the lit up cattails. I selected the zoom lens knowing it would draw in my subject and diffuse the trees behind to create the colorful backdrop. To keep it from washing out I used spot metering to achieve full color saturation."
The Caw Caw Interpretive Center is operated by the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission and is located near Ravenel on US 17. To learn more about Caw Caw, click here.
