The beautiful Angel Oak , with its wide canopy and wise age, presides at the center of Angel Oak Park on Johns Island. Here the ancient live oak provides ample shade and a majestic ambiance. The park also features picnic areas and even a gift shop, which offers souvenirs of this fairy-tale tree.

In spring and summer, the park features cultural events. The popular "Evening Under the Angel Oak" concert series, which is part of the annual Piccolo Spoleto Festival, features music, dramatic presentations, ballet performances, and many other activities.
