Mount Pleasant, South Carolina – Boone Hall Avenue of Oaks
|
Southern picture. The photo was taken by Julie G. Rowe of Charleston.
Julie is a professional photographer with a keen eye for capturing great scenes on film. You can discover more of her photos at Julie G. Rowe Photography.
The Avenue of Oaks at Boone Hall Plantation is three-quarters of a mile long and is lined by about 90 live oaks. Azalea flowers, hanging spanish moss, and live oaks all work to create a most elegant and enchanting scenery.
Live oaks (Quercus virginiana) are prevalent along the South Carolina coast and have, for hundreds of years, been an essential part of the Southern landscape.
