St. Stephen Hotels: A Local's Guide

St. Stephen is located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina on the outskirts of the Francis Marion National Forest. It's about 15 miles north of Moncks Corner and just 4 miles east of Lake Moultrie.

Often pluralized (even though there's no "s" at the end) by locals and visitors alike, this small town boasts several important historic sites. St. Stephen's Episcopal Church dates all the way back to 1769 and is one of only 125 Episcopal colonial churches still open for regular services in the United States.

If you're visiting St. Stephen in the spring, try to plan your trip around the annual Catfish Festival. The festival is held in Alice Price Park and features live music, arts and crafts, contests, and a catfish stew cook-off!
