This small town is an important part of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor and is famous for hosting the annual World Grits Festival in the spring.
Your first stop in St. George should be the recently renovated Klauber Building on 225 Parler Avenue, which houses the St. George visitor's center as well as the town museum. Just down the street, the historic Lourie Theatre (built in the 1920s) continues to provide entertainment for the town – try to catch a performance by the Half-Baked Players!
There are many other historic sites nearby, including Appleby's Methodist Church and the Koger Plantation.
