Spartanburg Hotels: A Local's Guide
Spartanburg (also known as Hub City and Sparkle City) is located just south of I-85 in South Carolina's Upstate region. It's about 30 miles east of Greenville and just 18 miles south of the North Carolina border.Spartanburg is the fourth largest city in the state and is home to eight colleges, including Converse College and Wofford College.
The heart of downtown Spartanburg is historic Morgan Square Park, which dates back to the late 1700s. Today Morgan Square is home to the majority of the city's businesses as well as historic sites and a great selection of shops, bars, and restaurants.
Spartanburg also boasts a number of theaters and public parks, including popular Barnet Park, which features walking trails, picnic areas, and the Zimmerli Amphitheater.
