Moncks Corner Hotels: A Local's Guide
Moncks Corner is a small, rural town located about 30 miles north of North Charleston on the southern shores of Lake Moultrie. The town is bordered by the Francis Marion National Forest and serves as the headquarters for Santee Cooper.The heart of downtown Moncks Corner is the historic train depot (which also serves as a visitor's center) located at 100 Behrman Street. Aside from a few shops and restaurants, there's not much else to see in the downtown area. Most of the major area attractions are located outside of town – here you'll find parks, gardens, and a number of historic sites and plantations.
Located in the southernmost section of Moncks Corner, Cypress Gardens was created in the early 1900s on the original rice fields of Dean Hall Plantation.
