Goose Creek Hotels: A Local's Guide
Goose Creek is located in South Carolina's Lowcountry, just 17 miles north of Charleston via I-26.The city borders the Charleston Naval Weapons Station and is just a short drive from beautiful Cypress Gardens and the Francis Marion National Forest.
Although the city of Goose Creek wasn't established until 1964, the history of the area dates back to the late 1600s. Goose Creek is home to several of South Carolina's oldest plantations, as well as other historic sites like the St James Parish.
Its location near the Cooper River makes Goose Creek a popular spot for boating, fishing, and other water activities. The city lacks a tradtional downtown area, but plans have been recently been made to combine and redevelop several commercial districts in order to attract new shops and restaurants.
