Georgetown Hotels: A Local's Guide
Georgetown is located on South Carolina's coast, 35 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 60 miles north of Charleston. This historic seaport is the third oldest city in South Carolina and is just a short drive from plantations and the beaches of Pawleys Island.The city's historic downtown area is highlighted by the Haborwalk that overlooks the scenic Sampit River. Front Street is also a favorite spot among tourists and locals alike. Here you'll find historic buildings that house everything from museums and art galleries to restaurants and bars.
There are no hotels in the historic district, just a few bed and breakfast inns. Most Georgetown hotels are located on US 17 as you enter the city driving south and are just a short drive from the downtown area. These are the last hotels along US 17 until you reach Mount Pleasant.
