The Market is the liveliest part of Downtown Charleston and probably the most popular tourist attraction. It has tons of restaurants, clubs, and nightlife, and it stays in full swing until about 2:00 in the morning.

The Market is also a great place to get a Charleston souvenir, as it features local artists and craftsman who sell everything from sweetgrass baskets to pralines.

In general, Charleston hotel rates are lowest in July and August ... and December through February.
