Anderson Hotels: A Local's Guide
Anderson is located in the heart of South Carolina's Upstate region, just south of Clemson and Greenville. In the late 1800s, Anderson earned the nickname "The Electric City" for its early adoption of hydrolelectric power. The name is still used today, but many locals also like to refer to their home as the "City of Hospitality."The city lies just a short drive from beautiful Lake Hartwell, one of the Southeast's largest and most popular recreational lakes. The Anderson Downtown Historic District boasts a large number of historic landmarks as well as a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars.
While there are several hotels located in downtown Anderson, the majority of Anderson hotels are located along Interstate Blvd, just north of I-85.
