Add Your SC Event – Rules, Restrictions
SC  SC Calendar of Events Rules, Restrictions
SCIWAY provides one free, single-line listing for most non-commercial SC events – with the following five exceptions. Please read this list carefully, and if your event matches these criteria, fill out our event addition form.
- Because SCIWAY is a statewide website with a statewide focus, we cannot provide free links to events unless they are of statewide interest. We make this decision by asking whether people would travel an hour or two – for example, from another county – to attend the event.
- You must have a dedicated webpage or website for your event. Multiple events should not be listed on the same webpage. (Because we list so many events, our calendar's format is by necessity limited to one line per event. We are therefore unable to include navigation instructions for your site. For example, we don't have space to explain to people that once they click on your link, they need to scroll down, look to the right, etc. Also, people often will not take the time to explore if information is not immediately accessible. If they click on your link and don't immediately see event details, they will simply leave your site, which is not helpful to either the person or the event.)
- We do not provide free listings for ongoing exhibits, recurring activities, political rallies, or community performances like plays or lectures. However, if your organization hosts events throughout the year, we are happy to add a link to your website's "Events" page elsewhere on SCIWAY.
- We do not provide free listings for commercial activities. If you have a for-profit event you would like to advertise, please contact advertise@sciway.net. Rates begin at $75 for a single-line entry which includes a link to the event's website, city event is located in, and roughly 5-10 descriptive words. You can optimize exposure with a Featured Event ad for $350 annually. A Featured Event ad puts your event at the top of the page with a graphic logo, website link, phone number, and expanded descriptive text.
- Due to space constraints, we also cannot add more than two listings per organization per month. Nor are we able to include classes, seminars, workshops, meetings, or lectures.
