Roebuck, South Carolina

South Carolina Spartanburg County Roebuck

Roebuck is located in Spartanburg County.

Walnut Grove Plantation, a large homestead once owned by Charles Moore, is located in Roebuck. Built in 1765, the house remained in the Moore family until 1961. Today, the house, kitchen, a blacksmith shop, and serveral other outbuildings have been restored and are open to the public for tours.

During the Revolutionary War, Charles Moore's daughter Kate Moore Barry, already married at age 15, famously scouted and carried messages for Daniel Morgan at the Battle of Cowpens.

The City of Spartanburg is the largest city near Roebuck. Here is a map of the Spartanburg area.
