Pickens, South Carolina

South Carolina Pickens County Pickens

Pickens is know as "The Gem of the Foothills." It is the county seat of Pickens County.

A few Europeans traders lived among the Cherokee in this area in the early 1800s. After the mid-1800s, more Scottish and Irish settlers moved into the area.

The name of the city and the county honored Revolutionary War hero Andrew Pickens.

Clemson is the largest city near Pickens. Here is a map of the Clemson area.
