South Carolina Fairfield County Longtown
Longtown is located in eastern Fairfield County, ten miles east of Ridgeway.
In 1793, Darling Jones, a banker from Camden, was granted a large tract of land in today's Longtown community. He built his home high on a hill and named the plantation Blink Bonnie, Scottish for "beautiful view." The house is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Today, it is privately owned and fully restored.
Longtown is halfway between Winnsboro in Fairfield County and Camden, in neighboring Kershaw County. Here are maps of the Winnsboro area and the Camden area.
